Role Overview:

The Policy Administrator / Senior Associate will be responsible for overseeing and executing the full policy lifecycle across health and life insurance segments. The role demands deep operational knowledge, accuracy in execution, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain high-quality standards in documentation, compliance, renewals, and customer experience.
This role is ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented, process-driven, and capable of driving operational efficiency while mentoring junior executives and collaborating with internal stakeholders and insurers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and execute the complete policy processing flow - from proposal validation, KYC verification, and payment confirmation to final issuance.
  • Conduct secondary checks on policy details (coverage, premium, tenure, nominee, etc.) before dispatch.
  • Maintain comprehensive case logs and ensure adherence to turnaround time (TAT) metrics.

2. Quote Review & Support

  • Support and review quote generation activities done by operations executives.
  • Validate premium calculations, compare product suitability, and escalate discrepancies when identified.
  • Coordinate with the partner/sales team to ensure smooth flow from quotation to proposal submission.

3. Documentation & Compliance Control

  • Own the integrity of all documentation and compliance processes across issued and renewal policies.
  • Maintain high-quality standards for digital and physical records as per AssetPlus documentation protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with IRDAI guidelines and participate in internal audits with 100% accuracy.
  • Proactively identify risk areas in documentation or process deviations and recommend preventive measures.

4. Renewals, Endorsements & Cancellations

  • Manage and track renewals with a focus on timely follow-ups, communication reminders, and data accuracy.
  • Oversee endorsements, corrections, and cancellations, ensuring error-free insurer coordination.
  • Maintain monthly renewal and endorsement dashboards with closure TATs and pending case analysis.

5. Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as an escalation point for pending or complex cases.
  • Liaise with insurers, internal tech, and operations teams to resolve issues and streamline workflows.
  • Conduct limited outbound coordination calls for pending documentation or clarifications.
  • Train and guide junior team members to enhance productivity and accuracy levels.

6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain daily and weekly MIS trackers for quotes, policies, renewals, and discrepancies.
  • Prepare analytical reports highlighting SLA adherence, productivity, and exception management.
  • Identify automation and workflow enhancement opportunities to optimise the policy operations process.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of life and health insurance operations, policy issuance, and servicing workflows.
  • Strong compliance and audit orientation with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Google Sheets, CRM systems, and insurer portals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and upskill junior team members.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Commerce, Business Administration, or Insurance Management.
